Diagnostikum Group
It is impossible to imagine modern medicine without cross-sectional diagnostic imaging. Thanks to highly complex methods, we can detect even the smallest changes in the body at an early stage and thereby contribute to timely and effective treatment with a decisive step. A high degree of care and experience is necessary for this. As the leading diagnostic centres in Austria, we have both. And of course, our equipment is always state of the art.
The start
Year 2000
Founded by Univ. Prof. Dr. Dieter Szolar and Univ. Doz. Dr. Klaus Preidler in 2000, Diagnostikum Graz has been combining excellent radiological expertise and the latest technological medical equipment since the very beginning.
Development of CT
Year 2001/2005
In 2001, Siemens installed the first 4-slice CT at Diagnostikum Graz. In 2005, this was followed by the first 64-slice multilayer spiral CT, which significantly increased the precision of examinations and reduced their duration.
Addition to the Group: Diagnosezentrum Meidling
Year 2007
After their successes in Graz, Szolar and Preidler enlarged the institute and in 2007, expanded Diagnosezentrum Meidling, making it one of the leading and most important institutes in the Vienna area.
New possibilities with the 3-Tesla High-Field Magnetic Resonance Tomographs
Year 2008
Only three years after we had acquired a multilayer CT, it was followed by the 3-tesla MRT, another excellent new purchase – number 17 in the SIEMENS MAGNETOM® Verio worldwide series.
Year 2010
Diagnostikum Graz has been the leading institute for cross-sectional diagnostic imaging in southern Austria since 2002, and today we rank as the highest in the country.
Grand Opening Nucelar Medicine and Diagnostikum Schladming
Year 2013
In 2013, we opened MRT-Diagnostikum in Schladming and became active in the field of nuclear medicine in Graz. With Diagnosezentrum Salzburg Süd, we began a teleradiological cooperation and from this point on, were also responsible for MR diagnostics at the Provincial Sigmund Freud Psychiatric Hospital of Graz.
Implemenation of another high-end machine
Year 2014
The Siemens SOMATOM Force® computed tomography system reduces exposure to radiation by up to 90 per cent, and the quantity of contrast medium can also be considerably reduced. Our machine has the worldwide serial number 14.
State of the Art: PET-CT
Year 2015
The acquisition of two PET-CT scanners for our institutes in Graz and Vienna (in Vienna, in cooperation with the diagnostic centres Urania and Favoriten) was a great asset. With their help, not only bodily structures but also metabolic functions can be imaged in the most precise way.
Eight MRTs, four CTs und one PET-CT
Thanks to the four 3-tesla and four 1.5-tesla MRTs, as well as the 4 multilayer spiral CTs and the PET-CT our institutes have the latest equipment.
Examination procedures offered
Computer tomography, magnetic resonance tomography, PET-CT
Additionally in Vienna and Linz: digital radiography, digital mammography, Doppler sonography, bone density measurement, low-dose X-ray radiation
Additionally in Graz: nuclear medicine
