Very high image quality, the option of editing the X-ray, a low radiation dose, rapid availability and convenient storage capability – digital radiography technology offers numerous advantages compared to conventional X-ray technology.
Phlebography is a special X-ray examination of the veins. It is used to carry out a precise diagnosis of venous diseases in the legs. After the contrast medium has been applied to the arch of the foot, the elimination of the contrast medium through the venous system in the legs is documented. This enables the detection of varicose veins or a venous occlusion (a thrombosis).
Before the examination, you will be administered a non-ionic contrast medium.
Please take note of our contrast medium information sheets.
